This course raises awareness of the issues identified in "Truth Hurts" A report into self-harm among young people, following a national inquiry by the Camelot Foundation and the Mental Health Foundation.

This course is suitable for people who work with, care for, or support young people. It is suitable for you if you are a parent, foster carer, teacher, youth worker, social worker or anyone or who works professionally with young people, particularly those young people in groups considered to be more vulnerable to mental health issues, such as Looked After Children, Adopted Children, Young Offenders or homeless children.

This course will help you develop an understanding about young people who self harm and identifies interventions and strategies that help and support young people to find less damaging ways of dealing with their distress.
